Sally Hansen I Pink, I Can

I couldn't help but pick up this lovely polish from the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line while I was at Shopper's the other day. It's called I Pink, I Can, and it's the perfect shade of bubblegum pink.
Shown here are 3 (and a bit) coats. It was very streaky, so I needed a little bit more than 3 full coats to cover some bald spots. This entire line of polishes is fantastic. No base coat, no top coat, and it lasted a good week for me. The one downside is that it dries chalky.

Another shot, with my wallet ;)

I was a little ticked by my latest manicure with Revlon Electric (four coats and still streaky and bald spots!), so I first layered on a coat of Sally Hansen Disco Ball, a clear polish packed with tiny glitter particles, to cover it, but I still wasn't happy with how it looked. So I brought out my tape and did an inverted-V design with the SH and SOPI shades. If I were to do it again, I would choose some different colours. Oh well, anything bright goes for summer, right?

Revlon Cherry Crush and Harry Potter-Inspired Art

My mother bought a bottle of Revlon Cherry Crush a few years ago, and I just found it. Surprisingly, it still flows pretty well, for a polish that's at least a few years old. It looked like the perfect shade to celebrate the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II  so I also did a HP-inspired mani.

Cherry Crush is a frosty, vampy dark red.

This polish sucks. It was a two-coater, which was nice, but when it dried, I wear I had never seen so many bubbles before in my life. Nice shade for Fall, if you can overlook the awful bubbling.

This was a huge mani-fail. I tried using the tape method to do the stripes, but I pulled it off too quickly and it ruined the glitter. On the ring, I drew a pretty horrible-looking deathly hallow symbol (sorry) but it was all freehand, with a wonky brush. Too bad you can't really tell what it is by looking at it.
I used Sephora by OPI Worth My Weight.

Sally Hansen Gunmetal and Art

This is three coats of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Gunmetal. It's a pretty grey-blue polish with pearl and frost finish. Nothing too unique. It's supposedly a dupe for Chanel Black Pearl, but I don't see it, personally. It was streaky with two coats, so I added a third for good measure. Didn't level out, though. You can see the frost finish. Too bad, because it was a nice polish. Good shade for Fall.

After two days of wearing it, I could see some wear, so I decided to try my take on galaxy nails. I used a sponge to dab on various polishes. Polishes used: NYC Color Skin Tight Denim, OPI I Vant To Be A-Lone Star, Revlon Electric, Sephora by OPI Worth My Weight.
I think it looks pretty neat. Totally hipster ;)

Sally Hansen Sunkissed and Prada-Inspired Art

Three coats of Sally Hansen Sunkissed. Summery orange cream, leans more towards yellow than red. Not sure about how it looks on a yellow-based skin tone. But nonetheless, it's pretty for summer. Nicely pigmented, but streaky with two coats, so I added a third. Some bubbled formed as it dried, argh. Dry time wasn't great.
I loved the Prada Spring 2011 dress that Hailee Steinfeld wore to the SAG Awards this year, so I thought I'd do a Prada-inspired manicure. She's such a gorgeous girl, and this dress looks absolutely lovely on her. I tried my luck with tape, and this is how it turned out:

Revlon Top Speed Electric Swatches

This is four coats of Revlon Top Speed Electric. FOUR COATS. As with most yellows, this was a complete streaky, splotchy pain. It has slight shimmer that is only visible under the sun. I've heard that it's a dupe for Chanel Mimosa, so I ran to my local drugstore to pick this up. Usually I'm impressed by Revlon formulas, but unfortunately, not this one. It was a complete let down. Can I have my $8 back so I can buy some quality OPI?

I couldn't stand looking at my streaky nails, so I threw on a glitter top coat to cover it. This is one coat of Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear Disco Ball. Pretty, and covers my mess? Success!
